I really enjoyed my stay. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel is located in a beautiful part of the city and is a gorgeous historic building. I will definitely stay here again when I return to Granada.

It's a budget hotel-- as long as you judge it by that standard, then this is a great place. It is right off the Plaza Nueva, with restaurants and street musicians and taxis and buses all right outside the door. It is however a little hard to get to... if you're driving, you have to leave your car in a garage outside the city center and take a taxi in. They will credit you with the cost of the taxi there, but not for the cost of a departure taxi. Follow the instructions carefully to find the correct garage! Even with a taxi ride, they can't take you right to the door, because it's up a terraced alley that can only be walked up. The door is a big plain wooden one that is usually locked-- they happily buzz you in but on our first arrival we were a bit lost as to whether we were at the right door and how to gain entry.

Once you get inside though the receptionists are all very friendly and helpful, and spoke good English. The interior is fun, with a winding maze of staircases and various small courtyards open to the sky. There's a larger covered courtyard near the entrance with places to lounge, and more benches and chairs off in leafy corners of the other courtyards. There's also a little library/lounge where they serve complimentary afternoon tea & coffee. The breakfast room is upstairs-- we did not make use of it. Wifi was free, and mostly functional.

We had a quad room right next to the library/lounge. I was afraid that we would get a lot of noise from there, but while we did get noise into the bathroom we did not have any trouble with it leaking into the bedroom. The only window was up high on one wall-- too high to look out of. In fact I didn't initially even realize it was there, as it was shaded and shuttered to block noise and light. There were other windows into the interior courtyard, but that put other guests looking right onto your bed so we kept those shuttered as well. AC worked fine to keep the room comfortable.

The quad room consisted of two single beds pushed together as if they were a double (but with separate bedding so could not be slept in like a double), plus two other twin beds. The room was very plain, but it was clean and the beds were comfortable. There was enough space to set out luggage and still move around the room. There was a mini-fridge stocked with a few items (for purchase), and nightstands and a little wardrobe with a mirror. There was a single modest TV.

The bathroom had no counter space (my continual complaint pretty much everywhere in Europe), and had poor lighting for make-up (another recurrent complaint), but otherwise had modern fixtures (including a bidet) and a reasonable shower. The temperature did shift a bit uncomfortably at times, but the shower was at least big enough to jump out of the water when needed!

So, not luxurious, but safe and clean and convenient location, and with some charm as well. As long as you're not expecting anything fancy, this hotel will serve quite well.
