Dear Sir,

You have invited us to give a rewiev of our stay, which is a good thing to do. I can however, ensure you that this letter would have come to you even without the invitation. This is to inform you that we were not at all satisfied with our stay at Historischer Krug this time. We've been guests at your hotel several times over more than 20 years, but this time may well turn out to be the last.

Our main reason for visiting the Historischer Krug has been the excellent kitchen you USED TO have, and the exquisite service of your staff. I'm afraid both of these were completely absent this time. The food we were served as part of the "Gourmet arrangement", was no better than what is served at any hotel's restaurant, anywhere. It could most definatly not be described as "gourmet" in any meaning of the word. "Boring, tasteless and sloppy" are the words that first and mainly comes to mind. Some dishes were OK, perhaps even OK+, others were near inedible. VERY far from the standard the Historischer Krug has been reputed for over the years.

The staff seemed to have far too much to do and showed very little interest in the guests or in what they provided of service and food. The waiting time between the dishes was sometimes very long, more than 20 minutes, without any information or excuse. Several times we had to help ourselves to more wine or water, waiters were simply not present. When the head waiter served water he just "splashed it" into the glass, spilling on the table as well. He even took the liberty of using OUR wine bottle for the guests at the next table to taste!

On our previous visits there has always been little, nice gestures like a small appetizer "with the compliments of the Chef", a "Welcome drink" on arrival for the Gourmet arrangement. Nothing like that now. Of course we realise that we in reality always paid for this as part of the package, but they still represent nice little surprises. On our previous visits the waiter has informed us about the dishes when they were served and asked if we had any questions regarding the dish. Again; nothing like that now. The food was simply put in front of you with a short "Enjoy!", before the waiter vanished.

The five course "Gourmet menu" which was supposed to be served in the nice and quiet surroundings of the "Privileg", was served in the "Krugwirkschaft" with noisy children and loud guests having their regular evening meal at the next table. Not at all what you advertise and we expected. When I told the head waiter that we were very disappointed, he simply stopped seeing us and left the whole service to a young waitress.

The room itself was very nice, but we missed several complementary toiletries that are usually found at good hotels; i.e. shampoo, conditioner, lotion, shower caps, hair dryer etc. Empty bottles were not removed from the room when it was cleaned. Again; the service and standard was not like we expected.

The check-out when we left was also very unprofessional. I had to ask to see the bill before I paid. The receptionist simply looked at the computer screen and said "That will be xxx Euro. Now insert you card." Nor did he ask about the stay. The feeling was mainly "pay up and get out of here". Not at all nice!

All in all we find that the experience of our stay was very far from what you advertise and we expected. As guests with more than 20 years experience from Historischer Krug we felt that the place had "lost its soul". Our stay this time was a big disappointment with no incentives for a return.

lidt mere skiltning, om hvor det forskellige lå. ligeledes hvor man kunne spadsere hen i området.
Kunne ikke finde ud af hvordan wellness/spa fungerede.
