My Partner and I had been traveling through the Pyrenees and surrounding countryside and wanted to have a quiet two day stay by the sea. Somewhere near Perpignan seemed like a good choice.
We found your website on the internet and on the basis of our reception at the campsite thought it ought to be a quality experience. I was shocked by the price 99.00 euros for 2 nights. Approximately a third higher per night that I have ever paid for other good sites. However I thought it would be worth the extra for a good experience.
We set up camp and we immediately new we had made a big mistake. The place was difficult to navigate, was reminiscent of a south London housing estate with hordes of noisy children running around and very tired and depressed looking holiday makers returning from the beach. The site was like a Disney-esque nightmare and was nothing remotely like the glamorous restful location as portrayed in your website and brochure. The final onslaught was the Karioke seemingly played over the Tanoy until shortly before midnight. It was too late to leave so decided to stay one night and ask for a refund for the second day. We woke up with the van over run with tiny ants that had crawled up the legs of the awning.
We asked the next morning for a refund but were told that refunds were not possible, despite the fact that we had experience a thoroughly miserable evening. There were also still plenty of spaces so had not jeopardized the loss of a booking. We left that morning (Thursday). The visit to your campsite marked the ultimate low point in our holiday.
We continued our travels through France, Italy and Switzerland and have just returned to London. I will be contacting my credit card company shortly to explain the situation and follow up on their recommendations.
