My partner Amy and I mostly enjoyed our stay at Pavilion Royal. However we were extremely disappointed with the pitch we were allocated due to the noise and disruption caused by the building works. We appreciate we were warned of the works in advance in April and at reception we were informed that the works would only occurred during the working week. However, the email we received stated the works were to happen on the beach and not three meters from our tent!

We were most disappointed by the poor allocation of our tent pitch and were awoken by work crews at 7:30am arriving ahead of work starting at 8am Monday to Friday. Being in a large tent as detailed in our booking we also had a lot of equipment and it took a lot off effort to set up. Come Tuesday we noticed that all other campers (all in very easily moved Campervans) had vacated the area closest to the works. The noise affected us even more as we were in a tent not a campervan.

When checking out at reception on Friday 07/06 we were advised that we should have complained earlier in the week and we would have been able to move. Having to complain should not have been necessary and it would have been extremely inconvenient for us to take down the tent and put up somewhere else. This was also made more difficult because of the bad weather.

All other aspects of the site were very good and reflected well of my families previous visits over the last 25 years.

Amy and I would like to seek some compensation from you from your poor consideration of pitch allocation, customer service and understanding. We paid for a holiday at a 5 star camping resort and do not feel our experience reflected this.

Perhaps the cleaning times could be earlier as the sanitary blocks were sometimes closed when you needed them.

Rubbish bins onsite, toilets cleaned before busy period not during them
