It was a very strange experience as my husband and I became unwell during our stay so we spent a lot of time in our room as we stayed 5 nights. It is only now I am home that I fully realize how incredibly loud the trains are. It was either be driven mad by the noise or embrace it, which is what we did. I even started to write down when and where the trains were going to see the pattern. The courtyard by contrast was beautiful and very peaceful. My advice is to avoid one one of the rooms abutting the train track if you are adversely affected by noise as trying to sleep would be a form of torture for the sensitive. I sleep badly anyway so I don't really think the noise made that problem worse.
