for this price, the experience was forgettable, bitter, painful. never again

I chose this hotel because it looked lovely and was a good price, but what won it for me was the rooftop pool. It didn't disappoint - what a welcome relief in after a long day walking around in he baking hot sun! The staff were fantastic - very knowledgeable about the area and helpful with advice about travel etc. While it isn't directly in the centre, it's in a very cool area with some great bars and is only a 10 or 15 minute walk to the river. We found some lovely places to eat and drink on our walk into the centre which we wouldn't have if we were staying closer to the river. We got upgraded on arrival for no other reason than they had a deluxe room available which was a nice touch. We didn't have breakfast in the hotel as we thought €15 per person per day was a bit excessive, but it did look nice. We just grabbed a pastry and juice from a bakery round the corner on our way out for about €1.50. I would definitely stay here again.

I spent 4 nights at the Zara Continental Hotel. It was a fine experience and I'm sure to come back to this Hotel if I will come back to Budapest!

We had a wonderful time. :-) We went to Budapest to attend the Grand Prix, so only expected to use the hotel as a base but it was so much more. It was very straightforward to get to the Grand Prix from the hotel. We will definitely be using this hotel again.
