A friendly hotel. The staff was also friendly. The information before at the website was unsatisfying, because the stairs to our room was not mentioned. The breafast was very good. The room was good, but some things needed repair. One of the two buttons of the toilet did not work. The refrigerator did not work. We did not succeed in making it work. The location of the hotel is very good for tourists who want to see the city.

Enjoyed our stay. Hotel was truly in walking distance to the tram/train, grocery store and sights. Staff was very welcoming. Would recommend this hotel. Note, at night it could be a little sketchy as it is near the tram central station. We had no issues.

The hotel’s location is generally great if you’re arriving by train — it’s right next to Germany’s Hauptbahnhof. However, for guests driving in, it’s a challenge. The area was congested with cars, and with road construction right outside the hotel, we had to park elsewhere to unload our luggages.

Check-in wasn’t the warmest welcome. The staff didn’t offer a room upgrade (which is fine), but when we asked them to send our luggage upstairs while we went to return our rental car, we came back to find our bags still sitting downstairs.

We also asked for two extra pillows — the lady at the counter said there was only one spare pillow in the entire hotel and suggested we request again the next day. Later in the evening, we asked a male receptionist, who gave us the same explanation but actually made the effort to find a second pillow for us. This made me feel it’s more about willingness to help than actual availability.

Another odd moment — the lady at check-in encouraged us to skip daily room service to “save €10/night” and spend it at the restaurant or mini bar. We agreed, but at check-out she insisted it could only be spent at the mini bar. I had to explain what we were told, and she eventually corrected the bill (also adjusting the breakfast price from €29 to the €25 I’d prepaid online). All this while my Uber was waiting to take me to the airport, which was stressful.

Breakfast was underwhelming for €25 — limited buffet selection, though they do have a side menu for items like German sausages, eggs, coffee, porridge, and pancakes. At the ham station, one of the hams had a sour taste (not sure if that was intentional or not). I honestly regretted pre-booking breakfast.

In short, while the location is excellent for train travellers, the service inconsistencies and overall value didn’t meet my expectations.
