Excelsior by Geisel

I had a very nice experience at Excelsior in downtown Munich. What I loved the most was the coziness of the room and the proximity to the city center, on foot, on top of that! The staff was super nice, and the room was clean and chic. I really enjoyed my time at this hotel! The only thing I would improve would be the wifi quality, as it was of poor signal (most of the time 1 bar out of 3) and kept dropping.

Ich bin schon seit Jahren Gast in Ihrem Hause und kann so die Veränderungen (Modernisierungsmaßnahmen), die Ihr Haus sehr aufwerten, beurteilen. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Gut finde ich, dass Sie eine Frühstückskarte haben und man außer den üblichen Angeboten auswählen darf. Ich bin oft, auch im Ausland in Hotels und gar nicht so begeistert, wenn die Frühstücksbuffets überladen sind und von den Gästen "verwüstet" werden. Diesmal fielen mir, ich nehme an, dass es Auzubildende waren, junge Leute auf, die nicht nur sehr freundlich, sondern auch respektvoll den Gästen gegenüber waren, alles im Blick hatten und schon auf Gesten der Gäste reagierten; es brauchte also keine extra Ansprache. Leider ist das Umfeld nun schon seit Jahren, schlimm, sehr schlimm. Die Parkmöglichkeit, einschließlich der Anfahrt vor Ihr Haus ist nun seit Jahren katastrophal!!! Ich brauchte von der Elisengarage zum Hotel, um mein Gepäck einzuladen und Mitfahrer mitzunehmen 32 Minuten. Wenn man terminlich gebunden ist, kann man schon ein großes Problem bekommen. Hinzu kommt, dass am Morgen Belieferungen Ihres Hauses und der Geschäfte in der Nachbarschaft kein Durchkommen und wie´s mir ging, kein pünktliches Wegkommen möglich ist. Dann noch die "Benko-Ruine", sie trübt das Umfeld leider sehr.

Zimmer sind renovierungsbedürftig: keine gehende Klimaanlage und die Dusche ist für gehandicapte Gäste eine lebensgefährliche Zumutung

Hotel was nicely located. Staff friendly. Rooms very spacious and loved the spacious bathroom. The only comment I have is there was no air conditioning and it was very hot, therefore neither my husband or I slept for 2 nights. In our 40 years of travellling, we did not know that in Germany you have to request a room with air conditioning in order to get one. This should of been posted when booking. Not knowing this, we never requested it and upon arrival at the hotel, there were none left. As a result 2 sleepless nights.

The first time (2003) of our visit to Munchen, we chose Excelsior. and 2005 staied again, and 2015 due to OctoberFest we could not book, and 2020 due to Cobid we canceled. This is our ririationship between Excelsior. Reasons why we chose excelsior, its convenient location to access to any place, close in to the main station, air port limousine bus stop, sight seeing to old town. this hotel is still keeping good old style of Germany, so we think. Hauptbahnhof and surroundings area are now under the construction(rebuild to quit new station )

Gut gelegenes Hotel, Zimmer zum Hof sehr ruhig. Auf Anliegen und Wünsche wird eingegangen.
