On the morning of December 23, a terrible situation occurred. I was awakened by the fire alarm. Neither the TV nor the hotel's information system provided any explanation. So I had to leave my room and go downstairs to the first floor in my pajamas! Only at the 0 floor I was told that someone had forgotten their bread in the toaster during breakfast, which had set off the fire alarm. This information was given to me by an ordinary man who was controlling the entrance to the restaurant.
No apologies from the reception. No instructions or explanations from the staff. No action at all!!!
There were many people around me, like me, in their pajamas, who also wanted to understand what was going on and why we were woken up at 7:00 in the morning...
A stressful and strange situation.
Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We are truly sorry that you had to experience such an unpleasant and stressful situation during your stay.
Please allow us to explain that the fire alarm system is designed to react immediately to any potential hazard in order to prevent more serious danger. As also stated in the alarm announcement, the safety protocol requires all guests to leave the building until it is fully confirmed that there is no risk. For this reason, it is unfortunately not possible to provide prior individual explanations to every guest during an active alarm — communication can only take place once safety has been ensured.
The colleague you met in the lobby was not a random person but a member of our staff, whose role at that moment was to control access and assist guests during the situation.
We sincerely regret the inconvenience and discomfort this caused, especially early in the morning. Fortunately, the issue was resolved quickly, and after approximately 10 minutes it was confirmed that there was no serious danger, allowing all guests to return safely to their rooms.
We fully understand your frustration and how uncomfortable this experience must have been. Nevertheless, guest safety is always our highest priority.
We truly hope that despite this incident, we will have the opportunity to welcome you again in the future.
Kind Regards
Gergely Szlama
