I stay in hotels quite a lot and find that it is the staff who can make the difference between things being just fine or very good. You have excellent people on the desk, namely assistant manager David and the hotel manager. Warmth, local knowledge, humour and helpfulness. The breakfast staff were very good too and I was impressed that I could get gluten free bread, and it actually tasted quite like bread.
I partly chose the hotel for ease of transport, but with trams, busses and easy access to the train station, it was a very lucky choice. You might highlight online that the tube is about 50 meters along the pavement from you. The rooms are very well designed, though I really wanted a fridge, which is standard in the upgraded rooms. In such hot weather all my cold drinks were at room temp very quickly. My friends in their separate rooms, and elderly, were very anxious about needing help if they were ill at night when there were no staff on. They both liked the hotel a lot, but this fear was very real for them. My rational arguments did not change their minds. I know your business model does not allow for any substantial change in the arrangements. But you might give thought to some mobile panic button/response system for elderly guests to give some reassurance that help can be easily and promptly obtained.
Thank you very much for your review and the time you took to write it.
We are very happy about it. We are also already looking forward to your next stay with us.
Kind regards from Berlin
