Hotel Blaue Gams

Excellent and very neat and clean. Your restaurant portions are too big yet very tasty. Reception staff are very helpful and friendly. Breakfast is exceptional with a very large variety for all tastes. Just a shuttle to the bus stop would be ideal, the staircase is quite steep for the elderly with luggage. Well-done :)

Schönes und sehr gut gelegenes Hotel. Sehr reichhaltiges Frühstück - aber der Service beim Frühstück kann verbessert werden ( z. B. nur leere Kaffeekannen, unsaubere Tischdecken). Die Kernseife auf dem Zimmer sollte durch Flüssigseife ersetzt werden.

Ein wunderbarer Ort zum Wohlfühlen, Entspannen und Genießen. Der Wellnessbereich ist sehr zu empfehlen.

Incredible!! Hotel Blaue Gams was the ideal setting for our dream trip. You are not only located in the most beautiful spot overlooking Ettal Monastery but then you have the kindest staff to back up the beauty. Lubo was our waiter and bartender. We wish he worked anywhere in Nebraska. Wed travel to him for his high level of service. He treated us superbly. The food was the best in all of our European trip. Top level, best tasting, beautiful set up, ease of access, freshest food was served morning and during all of our 3 course meals.

The rooms were extremely clean, functional, and beautiful.

If we returned till this area we absolutely could stay here again.

Ein sehr gut ghefü+hrtes Haus mikt ausgesucht höflichem und hilfsbereitem Personal ohne im Geringsten aufdringlich zu wirken. Sauberkeit und sehr gute Athmosphäre fallen auf. Selbst in ungewöhnlichen Situationen zählt Ruhe und Klarheit zu den bemerkenswerten Verhalten.

Sehr gepflegter Eindruck und schöne Aussicht. Im Restaurant könnte die Speisekarte etwas größer sein.

Overall, good stay and the Staff were friendly and helpful from the front desk to the restaurant. I did not know the hotel was steep on the hill and was challenging to get to/from daily (I had my knee replaced not long ago). I really wish the hotel offered transportation around the town and to Oberammergau. One of my frustrations has more to do with the Passion Play organization than it does the hotel itself -the German to English translation on the official website is horrible and I misunderstood when booking the room. I unfortunately reserved two rooms instead of one and Passion Play staff members take weeks to respond -frankly, they suck! I couldn't cancel without cancelling the entire reservation. I decided to keep the room(s) rather than risk losing the play tickets and lodging since I already had flight tickets. Would have been nice for the hotel to at least offer our room to guests who were "walk-ups" off the street without reservations in advance. I'm sure they could have rented the room and reimbursed us at least a portion of our money instead of it going unused. One complaint, the room was directly next to the parking lot and could hear every person, car and bus come and go at all hours of the day and night from tour company buses departing at 3 am to wedding guests drunk, getting off the bus screaming and shouting. Also, hotel staff or hired hands were drilling and hammering outside our hotel room making repairs at 7 am. I wouldn't consider this hotel a good choice when looking for some relaxation or vacation time. Oberammergau (town 3-4kilometers away) has more to do and plenty of hotels to chose from.
