We booked on a gourmet package. Our expectations were that would be a different menu to the standard menu in the restaurant. You depict beautiful looking food on your website. We stayed for 8 nights and there was a very limited choice of food on the menu. It was a set menu, which only changed every 3 months. Therefore could I suggest that if someone stays for longer periods you contact them and advice accordingly. The wine was chosen for us by the head waiter and rather than him asking us to taste it first we were just given it and when I told the head waiter it was too sweet he changed it but I didn’t get my second glass of wine. The buffet breakfast was not kept fully stocked and EVERY day I had to ask for something mainly croissants and fruit juice, which are staple items.
The coffee was always given in a pot and was always lukewarm. We had a further night in Tours in a 4 star hotel in the centre and I was able to compare and there they excelled at breakfast and had a coffee machine, which gave us lovely hot cappuccinos. Breakfast foods were been constantly topped up.
We cancelled our gourmet package because we were not offered an alternative to the standard menu. I was offered a salad as a starter because due to the limited choice I was left with nothing on the menu I liked.
I felt you miss lead us offering a gourmet package when in fact it’s no different to your standard menu
