We had a wonderful stay in Bordeaux and in the hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the suite de Seze was beautiful and perfect for us and our daughter. We would definitely highly recommend the hotel and will, I am sure, return. Our only slight disappointment was regarding the taxi transfers from/to the airport. We had a telephone call from a very helpful lady in reception a few days before our arrival and she offered to book a taxi to collect us from the airport. She told us that it would cost 50 Euro. As our flight was due to land at 22:55, we booked this and provided our flight number. Our flight was 10-15 minutes late landing, but we had no check-in bags so came through the airport quickly. The taxi was waiting for us and the journey to the hotel was quick (20 minutes). When we arrived at the hotel, the taxi driver charged us 80 Euro. He said that he had been waiting for 45 minutes. However, we assume that he was given our flight number so could check for any delays. This seemed like a very high additional charge for only a short delay in arrival time and given the fact that we were through the airport so quickly as we only had hand luggage. We paid the driver as it was late and we just wanted to get into our room. We mentioned this to the hotel when we booked our taxi back to the airport. They did call the taxi company and were not sure why we were charged so much. We were told that we would be charged 60 Euros for the taxi back to the airport (at 07.15am) and were told that this was still the night time rate. We understand that the hotel uses the same taxi company a lot, so would have hoped that a more favourable deal could be offered to guests, particularly if they book return journeys. However, our overall experience of the hotel was that it was lovely. The hotel also kindly provided a little note and some macarons for my husband's birthday. We are happy to provide the feedback but would not like it to be published, even if anonymously.
