Initially I was upset because I reserved an Excellence SeaView room and it seemed based on the website photos we were given a Standard sea view room above the breakfast area. When we checked in I said we were celebrating my husbands birthday and also reserved a table for dinner. I was very upset with this room as it was NOT the size stated so I showed her our reservation was for an Excellence Sea View not a Standard sea view. First she said ALL rooms were taken and there was no other room available. After showing the front desk lady my photos of the two rooms I had taken from the reservation page, the one she tried to give us was the same room in the photo for a Standard room, she finally said she could move us but she argued with me about the room and was angry. She gave us room 1 which had a nice view but still did not seem to be the size or have the seating area of an Excellence room, more a Deluxe room. But it was nicer. We were the first to arrive for dinner and were seated along the backside of the bar, as it turned out a table away from 4 tables of a small child’s dinner party. The children were loud and not even the adults sat with them; they went to the bar. When we arrived I had asked to please sit by the window and was told all tables were taken. We reserved the Bord du Mer dinner package and asked for an explanation on the menu. The same desk associate evidently made all the decisions and was angry at me. She spoke angrily at me about the meal package and said I asked for a better room now a better table. We paid 520 euros for our room! Why would we not want to receive the quality of what we paid for? We even had to ask for bread although every other table was served. We felt targeted from her anger. I finally went to her during the meal and thanked her for moving us to a nicer room to try and calm her down. No one was in room 2 next to us which had the nicest Sea view and seemed to me to be the Excellence category. My suggestion is to change your photos and descriptions because based on her, why would anyone pay for any room but a Standard sea view
When that is what they will give you regardless what you pay. And if you insist you may get a better room along with rude service.
