A nice modern hotel in a great location within the walled city. The room was very nice and the breakfast had a lot of choice and was of good quality. However, the staff were not very helpful and felt a little hurried on arrival, like we were in the way. We had difficulty parking and was told that we should have received an email for underground parking which we clearly never received. The staff could have helped a bit more to make us feel more welcome. Also felt a little awkward with two children at breakfast as seemed frowned upon to have children at the hotel. The access for the pushchair was an issue as although there was a door in the lounge area we could not access from outside and was left waiting for a member of staff to open each time. The hotel was very nice but let down by some of the staff.

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Burton,

Thank you for choosing our hotel for your stay in Saint Malo.

We work hard to make each client feel welcomed and provide quality lodging and service.

We apologize if you felt that this were not the case during your stay.

Arriving at the hotels in the Old City of Saint Malo can be a challenge with narrow one way streets and poor GPS reception. To facilitate arrivals, we send via email a map of the city with driving directions and an explanation for parking solutions. As you reserved through a tour operator (Brittany Ferries in this case) we did not receive your contact information (email or mobile phone number) and therefore were unable to forward this information to you. The receptionist on duty however should not have doubted your receiving this email.
We have contacted the tour operator today to try and resolve this problem. The hotel is equipped with 9 Suites and Junior Suites which sleep four people. Families are a large part of our clientele. We have several high chairs available in the breakfast room for clients with small children and offer to store pushchairs in the baggage room to leave more space in the guest rooms. Most clients use the front door at the reception to enter the hotel. The door in the back of the lounge was designed to allow wheelchair access. As this door is not visible from the reception, we do keep it locked for security reasons. The doorbell allows the front desk staff to know that someone wishes to use this door.

If you could please confirm the time of your arrival, we will discuss your comments with the receptionist on duty.

It would be a pleasure to welcome you on your next stay in Saint Malo.

Cordially,

Mark Peterson
Managing Director
