Usually dreading hotels for their anonymity, I immediately felt differently upon entering Maier's (Metropol) - it probably was the real candles flickering in lanterns lined up the 3-4 steps upon entry. Everything felt as if the host was preparing for friends to visit - not guests. Also - the bar concept in the evening after 10 pm - amazing. Only adds to the feeling of friends visiting, not guests.

Great stay at Metropol! Breakfast was great and there were a number of options to choose from. Great bakery items. Location is good but could be better, still a great value. Right next to train station which is great and only a short walk from edge of historic district. Room was clean and very comfortable and we enjoyed the patio.
