The hotel promised a lot but for us fell rather short. We specifically chose it because it states that the staff (or at least some) were able to speak English - but there was a reluctance to engage with us because we didn't speak German. Also, being in a room that overlooked the courtyard and coupled with the need to keep the window open because of the heat in the room meant we did not get to sleep until midnight owing to the noise.
we would like to take the chance to comment your assessment as follows.
The most of our front staff is able to speak english, not always perfectly but we try our very best. It is very sad that this is taken for granted in Germany more and more.
We are sorry to hear that your visit was coupled with the nicest weather - maybe it was a bit to warm this summer, but be sure that almost everybody had to fight with the heat. Please notice that we have fans in our rooms on the attic floor. If you had inquired for a fan or also a second pillow, we could have helped you out.
Last but not least: It is true that our breakfast doesn't variate from day to day, but you have a great selection of different types of bread, cheese and many more, so you are not forced to eat the same everyday. So we kindly ask you not to compare us with a luxury class hotel.
Kind regards,
the Deutschherrenhof-team
