Netter Empfang speziell Frau Weiland.

There should be some notification to visitors when booking that the hotel is up a steep hill and provide some sort of instruction as to how to get to the hotel from the train station. We mistakenly thought we could walk to the hotel easily from the train station and found a steep hill that we ended up carrying our luggage up. Given we were international visitors, we couldn't use our phone to call a taxi and no Ubers and we were unaware of the bus. The hotel should have some kind notice to visitors 'if you are arriving by train, plan for how you will arrive' or something like this. My husband was physically injured from walking up that steep hill with luggage at 73 years old! When I mentioned it at the front desk they looked blase about the major inconvenience we suffered. Further when I asked for help for a DR for his back trouble after walking it, I was told to get myself to Boppard as they could provide no assistance. It was a very frustrating and disappointing service experience, particularly as we were guests from another country. This did not give us a warm helpful feeling we would expect from a hotel of this nature. It was unfortunate that the time at the hotel, which has a great view from the restaurant and amazing castle ruins couldn't have been spent in a nicer way.

I made a non-refundable booking but was unfortunately unable to travel due to health issues. I reached out to the hotel to request some flexibility in changing the dates; however, this was declined in line with the booking conditions.
To be clear, I fully understand that the hotel was adhering to its policy. That said, it is my impression that, given the hotel was not fully booked, some degree of flexibility could have been considered.
Overall, I would describe the hotel’s approach as strictly rule-based. While correct from a policy standpoint, there was no effort to go beyond the standard and provide a more customer-oriented solution. In that sense, the service meets expectations, but does not exceed them.

Regards,
Arthur

Nichts besonderes

Tolles Hotel! Und Glutenfreie Brötchen waren auch da.
