I booked 8 rooms in Ecuador through Agoda. Due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East and the uncertainty surrounding international travel, I was unable to proceed with my trip and contacted Agoda for assistance.
Although the booking was marked as non-refundable, the hotel initially informed me that they could arrange a postponement for my stay. After I provided the new dates I wanted, they later changed their response and said postponement was no longer possible.
This whole experience has been extremely frustrating and disappointing. I understand policies exist, but giving customers hope for an alternative solution and then suddenly rejecting it is very unprofessional, especially for a large booking involving 8 rooms.
I expected better communication and more consistency from both Agoda and the hotel in handling unexpected global situations.
