As per my comments above, it was supposed to be a once in a lifetime trip for us - an expensive hotel with a spectacular view before we had a baby after which we wouldn't be able to do such trips for a long time, and I felt that we had a mediocre room in a perfectly comfortable hotel, while paying premium rates.
It really was a huge dampener on the holiday.

Enjoyable great location if rather noisy our weekend because of fiesta but it wasn’t a problem.
Service on roof top bar very slow and not very helpful

The only criticism would be the prices of drinks and food at the rooftop terrace. They were in excess of reasonable with €26 for a distinctly average cheese plate (certainly compared to other places in Donostia - which were better and less expensive).
