Having stayed several times before we were very disappointed to discover that the restaurant was closed on Thursdays.Having had a long journey we were looking forward to a nice relaxing meal. The receptionist advised us to try a restaurant in Meung sur Loire called the 'Cafe du Commerce' which she said was open till 10:00 pm. When we arrived there at 8:30 pm however, despite empty tables, they would not serve us because we had not made a reservation. We then returned to the hotel to seek further advice from the receptionist who told us she was finishing at 9:00 pm and ( all credit to her ) told us that if we followed her she would take us to an 'out of town retail park ' type of restaurant where we eventually managed to eat but not the normal French cuisine we had been hoping for. All in all very disappointed that this lack of a restaurant on a Thursday evening was not mentioned when we booked online. This quaint hotel has great scope because of its location by the Loire but needs a serious management overhaul. Incidentally there are no staff available on site at all after 9:00 pm until breakfast (unless the restaurant is open).
Super très très bien situé
un séjour charmant, au calme, dans un bel endroit chargé d'histoire
Pour un 3 étoiles, manque un peu de confort, avons apprécié le cadre mais attention, dans les demeures anciennes, pas d’insonorisation.
I was very much looking forward to stay at the Louis 11, hoping to offer my family one last night to remember as part of our holidays. What we good was a big disappointment. For the price of almost EUR200,- we had a very poor experience. I felt I was in a youth hostel, where you should only pay EUR39,- per night. I completely missed why our room was called "Privilege" as it was far from privileged, see all comments before. A message to management: please realize how much potential your beautiful hotel and spend money to paint, do maintenance and hire more staff. Don't let it deteriorate further. And stop asking such high prices until you have done all that needs to be done and then I'm sure people will be glad to pay what I paid or more for a great experience.
thank you to take the time to comment your experience.
we can understand your dissapointment regard the price of the room, we open some discussion with the owner to make some works in the different part of the hotel to refind the best exploitation of this historical building
