It’s difficult to understand the placement of the hotel right next to the plant given the perpetual smell. It makes little sense.

We appreciate your comments regarding the hotel’s location next to the plant and understand how the presence of the smell may have affected your experience. Your perspective on the positioning of the property is valuable to us as we recognize the impact it can have on overall comfort. Just to explain the placement of our hotel. It was built in 1983 when the Blue Lagoon was next to it. The Blue Lagoon, which is a by-product from the geothermal power plant next to us, was moved in 2000 to where it is now. We are still at the same spot as we were in 1983 in the middle of the area we call Society without Waste, where the Geothermal Power Plant plays the key role as clean energy along with all the green operation in our area.

It is encouraging to know that you found the check-in process straightforward and the service level to your satisfaction. Your positive remarks about cleanliness are also greatly appreciated.

We also take note of your suggestion about room temperature control and understand how important this feature is for comfort. Thank you again for your candid feedback, which helps us in our ongoing efforts to improve the guest experience.

Our stay at the Northern Lights Inn was fabulous! The rooms were comfortable and the hotel was ideally located near the Blue Lagoon. Being located right next to the power plant made it smelly at times which bothered some people in my party, but isn't much of an issue if you aren't sensitive to strong smells.

Excellent. Very helpful and friendly staff. Comfortable rooms and cozy guest living room with fireplace was a nice surprise. We will highly recommend your Inn to any friends visiting Iceland.

STAFF WAS FRIENDLY AND PROFESSIONAL. FOOD AT THE RESTAURANT WAS GOOD. COMMON AREA WAS LOVELY FOR RELAXING AFTER A DAY AT THE BLUE LAGOON. HAD A MASSAGE IN THE SPA - FANTASTIC!!
