The hotel is lovely and in a good location for the Blue Lagoon .
If you want to go into Reykjavik for the day you can catch the bus but the times of the bus are limited .
If you want to go on a day trip they depart from Reykjavik and the bus does not arrive early enough or depart late enough for you to use the bus so a taxi is required , these are expensive due to the distance .

Lovely hotel in a perfect location to watch the Northern Lights.

We absolutely loved the hotel, it had all the comforts of home, the whole place has such a nice warm homely feeling.
The honesty bar is a nice touch as you can help yourself to drinks and snacks and just write down what you've had and it then gets charged to your overall bill.
We ate at Max's restaurant on a number of occasions and the food was superb. The staff there were very helpful and friendly. Every single member of staff in the hotel went above and beyond to make the stay enjoyable, such lovely people who work hard to ensure that the guests have the most relaxing and enjoyable stay which we definitely did.
The views surrounding the hotel are breathtaking, so beautiful to wake up to and the Blue Lagoon is just around the corner with a free shuttle bus from the hotel which is brilliant.
I would highly recommend having a massage when there, I felt so peaceful and relaxed afterwards, it was lovely.
We originally came to the Northern lights inn to see the lights and our time here didn't disappoint, we had an amazing display of the Aurora borealis right outside the hotel.
Overall an amazing place to stay. I've already recommended to friends and family.
We will be returning next year.

We very much enjoyed NLI, especially the frequent views of the aurora. The staff was very helpful and the room was nice and comfortable. The food at Max's was terrific, as was the service, including our server telling us we should go out for the aurora mid-meal. The only negative for us was the location next to the power plant, but otherwise, the location is great for exploring the Reykjanes Peninsula.

Absolutely brilliant! Cannot fault the Inn. superb spot for Northern Lights, restaurant was very good and rooms were super cosy and comfortable. The staff were excellent; warm, helpful and responsive. Thank you.

We loved the hotel. It had a very cosy feel about it. Staff were friendly and helpful and the food in maxs restaurant was very good.

Super great experience, we got called out to see the northern lights which was amazing and overall the service and the whole stay was top quality and relaxing. The only thing I missed in the whole hotel is a swimming pool or a hot tub

I really appreciated the Aurora wake-up call list and the living room area where you can relax and mingle with other guests
