We really enjoyed our stay at the Northern Light Inn. The hotel staff was always very helpful and friendly and we really felt that our stay was easy and calm. Room was spacious, comfortable and clean. Breakfast was good and it was great to have a tasty dinner in a restaurant in the hotel after all day driving around the island. Afternoon waffles were such a nice touch.
Only suggestion I would make would be to install a jacuzzi/hot tub in the spa or some small swimming pool so people can also soak in after/before the sauna.

Let's address the location, the only area I have to give a lower rating., The hotel is quiet and extremely relaxing. Even though the Blue Lagoon is close by and you provide free shuttle service to and from, there is so much more of Iceland to see and I think the hotel should have many more options for guests to have access to transportation to explore the culture and people. I am not talking about tours, I talking the ability to travel to local towns and the capital. We have been to many hotels that have a day or two set aside with transportation available and an extra cost of course, to town and city for dinning or shopping. Now on to the Northern Lights Inn experience. Customer service is second to none. I would like to extend some special recognition.Tim, he couldn't do enough for you. Extremely friendly and knowledgable. By far the best customer service I have seen in a very long time even in some very high end hotels we have stayed at. secondly Max Restaurant. We ate in the restaurant 3 out of the 4 night there. We can not complain one bit about the food or the service. Again the customer service was fantastic. Again we like to the waiters and waitresses we exceptional, There was one young lady who was a waitress and sorry we spoke to her many times but never got her name. She is also a housekeeper during the day. What a hard worker and always had a smile. She was extremely attentive to us and it appears everyone else she was waiting on. This and the fact that she does haul duties at the hotel says volumes about her dedication and drive to succeed in her job and needs to be commended. Feel free to extend our email to either of these to individuals so we can express our appreciation of them. Thank You again for the lovely experience in your country and hotel.

Dear Tim Hennigan, many thanks for your kind words. Just to the transportation. Before Covid there were quite many options but during the pandemic many of the companies went bankrupt and have not started again. As you know we are in a lava field, 5 km away from the nearest town and 45 km from Reykjavik and we are not allowed to arrange transportation, being a hotel, but we rely on 3rd party services. There are buses and taxis but we agree with you, it would be nice to have more options like we had before the pandemic and hopefully we will have these option again before long. We are extremely happy to read your words of our staff as we are very proud and thankful for the staff we have. We encourage them to read all the beautiful comments our guests leave behind and your kind message will be read by our staff. Thank you for this as a nice words for our staff are always welcome. Perfect! Staff friendly and helpful. Evening meal was beautiful & breakfast was good with plenty of choice. Enjoyed the free waffles during the afternoon. The honesty bar is great idea.

Our stay at Northern Light Inn was wonderful. The airport collection taxi was waiting when we arrived, as booked. The service by all staff at the Inn was extremely welcoming and helpful, with Tim in particular helping us with check-in, booking a taxi after our stay, and of course driving the shuttle bus to the Blue Lagoon. Our room was immaculate and modern, Maxs restaurant food in the evening was to a high standard, and breakfast had a good variety to an equally high standard. We will certainly be back!

The hotel was lovely and the staff were excellent. Unfortunately there was a prolonged power cut the night we stayed and we were not able to access the full experience. We were provided a free meal as compensation
