Location is excellent. If going to the Blue Lagoon it is a 2 minute drive without the cost of the hotel at the BL. Tim at the front desk was so kind and answered all of our questions on our first night in Iceland. Alsothe town of Grindavik is a 5 minute drive away and has a grocery store and Herastubbur bakery is wonderful and close to the main road. And lastly, you can tell the front desk to wake you at any hour if the Northern Lights appear.

Wonderful experience! Wish we had more time to stay longer than 1 night. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was larger than expected. The breakfast buffet was delicious and extensive, and exceeded our expectations. The beds were very comfortable. Maxs restaurant was delicious but one complaint: We ordered the root vegetable soup because the menu did not mention it was cream-based, whereas the other soup choice stated it was cream-based. However, when the root soup arrived we saw it was indeed cream based. While very tasty, we were not thrilled it was cream-based and the menu should have specified this. We LOVED the pan fried cod and the daily special Halibut, never before tasted such fresh, quality halibut. The locations proximity to the Blue Lagoon and the airport is wonderful, but too far from Reykjavik if you want to spend several days in Reykjavik, so this is the place to stay at the beginning or end of your stay. We really enjoyed Northern Lights Inn!

Great spot and saw northern lights. Very close to Blue Lagoon

Great, a very nice and serene break during our roundtrip in Iceland. One of the best accomodations weve had.
