Excellent stay almost next door to the blue lagoon

We have stayed three times at this hotel, this time we did not get great restaurant service, and were disappointed that the menu did not change all week, no different sweets even and girls too busy chatting to bring the right order and sat 10 minutes waiting for a soup spoon. Complaint led to swift apology and offer of free deserts. The hotel is beautifully clean, they even put out free tea coffee hot chocolate all day/night and make your own waffles which was a nice touch. Viewing lounge on roof ideal and warm spot to see the northern lights and a few minutes from blue lagoon. Would certainly stay again.

Location is excellent. If going to the Blue Lagoon it is a 2 minute drive without the cost of the hotel at the BL. Tim at the front desk was so kind and answered all of our questions on our first night in Iceland. Alsothe town of Grindavik is a 5 minute drive away and has a grocery store and Herastubbur bakery is wonderful and close to the main road. And lastly, you can tell the front desk to wake you at any hour if the Northern Lights appear.
