Pleasant stay in an excellently located and perfectly maintained old fashioned hotel with a presumably grand past. Some little improvements could be made in the breakfast department: more fresh fruit variety, better quality coffee, better quality bread.

Shocking experience not what I expected for my money at all. Put a complaint in six weeks ago and it's still not sorted. Have been ignored by email several times and made numerous phone calls and fobbed off every time. Shocking way to treat a customer. After my experience I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. I felt I was put in the servants quarters but paid a kings ramsom. Disgusting and I will not let my complaint go away.

Loved the Victorian ambience with the sweeping stair case. pillars and traditional lounge area. The room was comfortable, the tray selection very good and the place spotless and quiet. Breakfast could not be faulted with a very generous choice of both hot and cold buffet, cheerful welcoming staff. Evening meal however in "The Ash," was far below expectation , the food was badly presented and overcooked, I did say that I was not satisfied with my meal but it was at least ten minutes before a manager came to ask if I would like the meal changed. I declined and sent it back. It had been flagged up as a la carte dining, sadly it did n't even meet good pub grub. As we had taken up one of your offers this was a big disappointment. Such a shame that this let down what would have been an otherwise very enjoyable two days.
