The rooms were spotlessly clean but lacked some basic facilities such as tea/coffee making facilities or even glasses/cups to get a drink of water. The lighting is too harsh and the first night we could not work out how to switch off the light which was high up next to the bunk bed, as all the other lights had switches but this one did not. We ended up having to take the key card out so that there was no electricity in the room before asking how to switch it off the next day. The receptionist told us that this was a common query, so maybe you should have a notice in the rooms.
Most of the staff were extremely polite and helpful but one of the barmen was generally quite rude to customers.
The hotel was in a great location for transport to and from the airport and fairly close to bars and other attractions and we were very surprised to find that it was literally on the East Side Gallery.
Overall our stay was fine as we didn't spend much time in the hotel, but it did feel more like a hostel than a hotel, with tons of kids running around the corridors excitedly and a lack of basic facilities in the room.
first of all we would like to thank you for taking the time to send us your feedback.
We're happy you liked the cleanliness of your room and the location we're in.
You're right we don't have glasses and team making facilities in the rooms. But we have a guest kitchen which is equipped with all the things you'll need to make yourself some tea.
We're sorry to hear about the light switches. We will inform our housekeeping team to switch those off to prevent an issue like that from happening again.
We hope you still had a great time in Berlin.
Best wishes,
Pia / Schulz Hotel Team
