Room was a bit warm, heavy bedding, slightly noisy with window open. Decor quirky and rather dark. TV didnt work! Disappointed with reception staff. Would like to see parking included in price at this rate. Decent bathroom and ideal location. Food menu and bar area looked interesting but competing with all the options York has to offer so not used.

Der tolle Biergarten war das Highlight und toll war auch, dass wir einen Parkplatz auf dem Gelände hatten. Wir waren dort, als es außergewöhnlich heiß war, daher wäre eine Klimaanlage gut gewesen (wir hatten das aber bei der Buchung nicht als Filter vorgesehen) und der Schlaf war nicht sehr erholsam. Die Zimmertüren schließen automatisch, aber beim Zuschnappen sehr sehr laut. Dies störte die Ruhe doch sehr, wenn die sehr späten Heimkehrer ankamen oder die sehr frühen Aufsteher losgingen, Hier wäre eine manuelle Schließung besser. Das Frühstück war leider enttäuschend in der Auswahl, auch wenn wir wussten, dass es ein englisches Frühstück war. Das Müsli wurde zum Beispiel in der Pappschachtel in der Schüssel serviert, hier ist Luft nach oben. Die Mitarbeiter waren alle sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.

OK apart from comments in "How could we improve" but I wouldn't any normal size couple to choose a "small double"

Great experience, really nice hotel. Clean and comfortable great location. Could do with some maintenance. No seal on bottom of shower door so floor got really wet. Some fittings a little tired and no hairdryer in room . Car park area a bit loud when people coming and going particularly a motorbike at 11ish. Probably not the best location for a family room with kids going to sleep early. I appreciate you can’t change location of car park.

This is our second visit to the Churchill, and yet again it didn't disappoint. The location is fantastic, with the added benefit of a carpark. The breakfast was excellent, and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. I look forward to our third visit.

Very satisfied; you do need to fix the shower in our room permanently so it doesn’t scald! Also, consider offering smaller breakfast at lower cost.

Small room and very warm. Needed fan on all night. Comfortable bed. Staff seemed a bit remote. All forgiven in light of fantastic breakfast. Best award goes to the chef

Lovely and would definitely stay there again. Few little things but nothing that would stop me highly recommending it. 10 minute walk to the cathedral, bars and shops. Thank you Reece for the great service and the young man who looked after us in the garden.

The Hotel is great, especially the 4 normal bed (not extra bed), but the AC would be great. The upstairs room was very hot.
