Very friendly hotel reception, good advices to visit York, Nice room, maybe one think for breakfast need to ask twice sometimes

Wouldn't stay again to be honest. It was cute but there are much better places to stay. It was a special occasion for us, which we made a note of on the booking. We were on our honeymoon and the hotel chose to ignore this. Everywhere else we had been to and visited had made a little gesture for us to make it that little bit more special. Literally nothing from this hotel. We were so hot and bothered in this tiny space we barely spent any time here.

Overall, the location was perfect. Short walk to old town, Roman wall, river, gardens, York minster. Perfect for my older parent. The staff was very polite and very helpful. They even hunted down some dominoes for us when they couldn’t find cards for us to play a game. The room was clean and adequate for usage. The beds were comfy with good pillows and lovely starched linens. Bathroom was clean and toiletries were provided. I found the price to be somewhat inflated for the room since breakfast was not included. Probably priced for the location. Overall, it’s a good place to stay if you can afford it.

Dissapointing, if the room had been better we would have tried the other facilities at the hotel. Location was good

Hotel is very nice, although the rooms at the front would benefit from air conditioning and double glazing to reduce the noise from the road and garden bar. Should not clean bar and dining room after 11pm as the noise echos and is very loud in the hotel’s best room

Very good, and the staff, with one exception, was very pleasant and accommodating. Server for dinner was great, and front desk team was very helpful with questions about the area.

The hotel was delightful and well positioned for the City
The only improvement we could suggest is a fridge to keep things cold

Great, but the room was far too hot. Actually, the whole hotel was too hot. Very nice staff, very friendly.

Expensive but good. A lift to the rooms would have been good. Some one could offered to take the cases up to the room.

Great experience with the exception of the noise outside our room 111 from 5am with the fire door banging shut repeatedly. Again with loud noises-bottles being dropped into a big bin outside. This did impact our stay as we did not get much sleep. The same happened to our friends in room 112 who we paid for as a treat. If it was not for the noise we would definitely return and recommend but as it was we would have to think hard as the lack of sleep did impact our stay.
