Happy with my stay will come back again, hotel is just a short walk to the city centre, the staff were very good and cheerful

We really enjoyed our stay. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were superb and set us up for the day. We had a lovely room and the bathroom was well equipped and had an excellent shower. We enjoyed the kit Kat's! 🥰

Quirky hotel with lots of character, handy for busy centre but rooms were quiet. It is the staff who make this hotel special. They are superb, so helpful and professional making us feel very welcome.

Prince of Wales Suite where we stayed had been redecorated and looked fabulous. Sadly the overall experience was not as good as last year especially in the restaurant, the menu was limited and not backed up with the quality as we had experienced last year. However, the breakfast was excellent.
The dining room is really classy as is the hotel. The bar area is welcoming and well decked out and an ideal area for informal dining. For evening dining the main dining area would benefit from a smart casual dress code to uphold the prestige of the hotel.
The customer service experience was good, but personalisation of service could have made it better eg recognition for celebrations/reason for visit (when these have been detailed on the booking).

Great hotel, with friendly team ready to help whenever asked. The car park is tight but the location means you don't need to use the car as the main places are withing waling distance.

Just a quick unplanned night away to meet friends hotel as always was spot on only bug bear with a lot of hotels in York and many other places that’s really putting me off these days is the PARKING CHARGES I’m mean £18 a night is ridiculous they must be making a fortune for no real outlay or service to you

Mixed feelings, based on price, parking and cost of breakfast which is incorrect on Booking.com, I probably wouldn’t stay here again. That said, I would like to add that the reception team were really lovely and welcoming.

It’s heartening to know our reception team made you feel so welcome and that the hotel’s location was ideal for getting around York with ease. Your positive remarks on the cleanliness of your room are greatly appreciated as well.

We do regret that aspects of your stay, especially relating to price and parking, left you feeling disappointed. Parking in York city centre is quite limited, and although we offer our own car park, the fee is aligned with what’s commonly found in this area. We strive to keep our charge as competitive as possible compared to similar hotels nearby.

Booking.com does correctly list the full price of of the most expensive breakfast as being £18.75 but it's website doesn't allow the full menu to be described so the cheaper options going down to £10.95 are not listed.
