Beautiful place. Was disappointed with the room being so close to railway lines. The train noise during the night wasn’t pleasant

Perfect location for a few days in York - we could walk everywhere. Reception staff were friendly and helpful. The room was nice and clean, if a little small.

The room we initially got was in the basement and was described as a double superior room. There was nothing superior about it. Small window at ground level, small tv and not much natural light in the room. No bespoke furniture as described on the website. We were moved at our request to a ground level double room that wasn’t much different in content to the superior. The room faced towards a railway and trains ran past fairly frequently late at night and early in the morning. No Air Conditioning in the rooms meant an uncomfortable night due to the hot weather. Doubtful we would stay there again.

Polite, friendly, efficient staff. Excellent central location that is also near to the railway station, which particularly suited our needs. Would not hesitate to stay here again.

Excellent. Would recommend to friends. The car parking charges were a little expensive but perhaps expected for York.

Booked the Hotel for a short break for our wedding anniversary. Lovely location, lovely room, excellent service.

Perfect! Partners birthday treat. So close to central York! Very clean tidy hotel. Our room wasnt huge but the bed was comfortable! Loved the large ‘churchill’ murals everywhere. We ate in the restaurant in the evening and the food was excellent as was breakfast the nxt morning. Car parking was included in our package but is £10 normally, plenty of spaces and permitted to leave car until 1pm on day of check out for that last minute wander before the journey home, a great perk! I would highly recommend this hotel

The location makes it worth staying there but otherwise there's nothing special about this hotel and the noise early morning would make me think again.
