Our second visit and once again we enjoyed our stay very much; two nights to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Churchill is ideally situated as a base to explore York easily on foot. The menu and quality of the evening meal was very good, though on the second night service was a bit slow and, I know it is hard to please everyone's tastes in these matters , but the music playing in the restaurant was DIRE!!! Repetitive , modern wailing!!! But don't worry - I am sure we will return!

This is the second time I’ve stayed here. It’s a great hotel with friendly staff. Beautiful decor that’s really inviting. Great for exploring the city of York.

Had a great time and have never met such friendly staff (from top to bottom) anywhere. Being able to park the car securely and to walk to the walled town in a few minutes made for a very enjoyable vacation.

Excellent hotel, perfect location which included parking. Beautiful rooms which were very clean. Comfortable beds and excellent service

Completely spoiled by terrible room which should never be used for guests. Vastly over priced for a glorified cupboard of a room. Had I known the room was so awful, I would never have stayed in this hotel.

Perfect in every way. My son loved all of the Winston Churchill memorabilia and the receptionist who checked us in was very knowledgeable about the hotels history which my son loved!

Good overall, but somewhat expensive. Have stayed in better rooms for considerably less. Pubes in the shower weren't good!

Very good. Well run place with very welcoming staff. Close to town. Great room, great breakfast. Will be back for sure.
