Enjoyed our stay. We started staying at the Churchill about 22 years ago and and have always been satisfied with the service. We also know that the restaurant is capable of serving quality food but this occasion it was below par . My wife’s food seemed fine by the way.

Very good room was lovely and the service was great chap on the reception was extremely helpful local to town and very well decorated

We love this hotel. Location is perfect and the staff are really friendly and efficient. A couple of niggles. The lighting in the bathroom is too dim to be able to use the mirror effectively. And please - lose the decorative cushions on the bed. They are simply a nuisance.

We were very grateful for the room upgrade and the immediate response to our mention that a bulb had gone out in one of the lamps. Overall a lovely stay.

I have stayed at the Churchill on several occasions over the past three years and I wouldn't choose to stay in another hotel in York. I have always been pleased with the service, the quality of the room and the food in the restaurant.

Staff were very friendly and the room was immaculate, decor was what had drawn me to the hotel and it didn’t disappointment in person. Would definitely recommend this hotel and would 100% stay again.

The staff were fantastic they remember who I was and looked after me. Better than a chain hotel. The room was excellent. The location was excellent. I would recommend it as a place to consider

We would have liked to have stayed longer and visited the restaurant. The hotel was a lovely relaxing experience. I would have expected a king size bed in a superior room.

Disappointing, the standard room was dark and I could not put my contact lens in or put on make-up on because of no lighting around the mirrors. The bathroom was also dark, large scratches on the floor and the toilet seat needs changing. The bed was so hard we both didn't sleep. Also the card key took a age to get into the room. A area in the hotel with some armchairs for reading news papers or just relaxing would be nice the room adjacent to the main restaurant is wasted area. When checking out the receptionist asked for payment again for the 3 nights of parking which I had already payed in advance when I checked in ,I was asked for the receipt as proof.
