Great. Would recommend and return without a second thought. Staff very polite and helpful. The room was spotlessly cleaning. Very modern and the bed was very comfortable.

We've been a few times and again our stay was lovely- so convenient and really friendly staff. We'll be back.

Massively dissatisfied and disappointed as this was a birthday treat for my wife and the room just totally let it down. Ending with a pice of time in her foot when we were meant to go out walking that afternoon. Absolutely gutted!!

Really enjoyed our stay although I was surprised that a superior double room does not include mini fridge or a safe. The room was also poorly appointed in that the seating was under the television and no working desk. First world problems I know, but it is a review.

Very enjoyable stay except for having to move from room 115 at midnight because of constant noise from boiler below. Apparently this is a known problem by hotel staff. Otherwise excellent.

We had a fantastic experience, such a lovely hotel with fantastic staff offering great service, I had a good feeling about this place so much so I cancelled my reservation at the Principal at the 11hour and booked Churchill instead, nothing against the Principal but this had a much better feel to it and we we not disappointed, can't wait to return.

Having booked this through red letter days and a recommendation we were both excited about our visit. The excitement didn’t last long when we were greeted by “ oh your the red letter day booking”. The room was very small and I actually fell out of bed in the night( I’m only a size 12) . I don’t know how a 6ft man would have coped in the bed!!! There was only one bath towel and hand towel in the bathroom, so we had to locate the others, which were in the wardrobe!!! Dinner was ok, but squashed in the restaurant. Breakfast was lovely , glad we got down early though as we would have been in top of everyone again. York is a lovely place to visit and location of the hotel is fab. Just a shame about the room.
