Friendly staff and the hotel is just a short walk into the centre of York, also the restaurant in the hotel was very good.

Great hotel, been here twice now and enjoyed it very much. Rooms are a good size and it's close to the town centre so easy walking to the major attractions.

Very enjoyable.Reception staff smiley and helpful.Location was perfect near enough to town without being too close. Showers were amazing. Very clean and cosy.

A very well located hotel with ample parking for central York, maintaining a high standard throughout. Staff were very friendly and obliging and little touches made for a very positive experience.

The initial impression was great. Was greeted by the member of staff at the desk with a nice chat and a smile. Was shown and explained everything in the room, and about the breakfast and phone to call if need anything. The room was very cosy but not warm enough. I settled down and decided that I would like to enjoy a drink at the bar so I made my way down and was surprised with awful and judgemental atmosphere, was stared at by other customers but also by the staff member the whole time I was there. When asked for a drink menu he just pointed at the table and was told to get it myself. The whole time I sat down trying to relax after a long day of work and travel felt awfully uncomfortable as the server kept giving me weird looks and seemed to have been listening to my phone conversation the whole time. It was not pleasant or welcoming. The server was cold and short with words, so unlike the person at the reception desk. I decided that I would order another drink to my room as I did not want to spend any more time feeling uncomfortable at the bar.
I slept well and the checkout went smoothly and was served again by the lovely staff member at the reception and greeted farewell.

Overall a good stay with excellent service from the staff. The staircase was fantastic giving a feeling of luxury. Let down by the fan noise in the room, we thought that we were near to the air con units perhaps?
