We enjoyed our break and would be very happy to return . The staff were excellent and we would have appreciated them wearing name badges so we could have commended some in particular .

I have to be honest. The pluses was the outstanding service. Ian and 'the rest of the gang' were phenomenal. Absolutely loved the location. Walking distance from the train and nice and quiet from the city centre. ATM and Sainsbury very close. The negative was no safe in room, no counter space in bathroom and an outdated mattress on the bed. I would rate this hotel 3.5 stars which appeals to many. Price was indicative of the hotel.

My friends and I have stayed at the Churchill on two previous occasions., and have enjoyed the experience greatly. This time however, we were disappointed with the changes. I appreciate the need for updating and improvement, and while the rooms were very nice, we were disappointed with the changes to the restaurant, which now no longer offers that"something special.".We were most disappointed with our evening meal". The staff however continue to be delightful, and on that element you are to be congratulated. I hope to come and stay at the Churchill again in the future, but will not be using the restaurant in the evening.

I found the hotel and grounds very impressive. It was close to the centre of York which was excellent. Will definitely return.

Good. We would return, but would try to afford a larger and better room. The staff really are very good, although one lady on reception was unable to give my friend driving directions as she didn't seem to know the area at all and he doesn't use a sat nav

Very enjoyable. The Churchill met our needs and is not too large an hotel so that it feels impersonal. Staff friendly and efficient. The evening menu I feel could be a little more varied, and the same soup of the day on consecutive three days was disappointing. Food cooked to a high standard though. Otherwise, happy with The Churchill and will certainly stay there again.
