Lovely warm welcome. Helpful staff who happily accommodated all of our large family's requests. Very happy to recommend this hotel. Thanks for making our wedding weekend in York such a good experience. Well done!

Had a lovely stay at the Churchill for my partner's 30th. The hotel is situated within walking distance to the centre of York. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. To top off the weekend we even received a free room upgrade to the bridal suite :o)

The first room we got was a mismatch, mainly due to low ceilings (and I'm pretty tall). We got another room the day after, which was lovely. The staff was very nice and helpful, the (2nd) room was nice (big, comfortable bed, great bathroom) and the breakfast was excellent. The location is also really nice, only about a 10 minute walk from the city center.

Very good night at the hotel. The railway track alongside waß noisy outside the hotel. Woke us about 6 in the morning. Clean and compact room's. Breakfaat was excellent with attentive staff.

The room we were given (no 120), being sold as a double room, is in my opinion borderline fraud. As a well traveled man who has stayed in hundreds of hotels, I can't recall ever staying in one as small. In addition to that, the restaurant ran out of too many items in a three course `not over comprehensive menu` and the food we did get, flat iron steak and lamb belly, was somewhat over cooked to be polite. More concentration on the simple stuff rather than the fancy smoking stuff would probably be a good idea ! - Some pleasant and helpful staff tried hard to help the hotel live up to it's website promise, but sadly were unable to do so. I wouldn't return in a hurry !

We had a good stay, however prices in the restaurant for both breakfast and dinner were over the top for the portion size. The dinner, bed and breakfast deal was better value for money. Food on the whole was good.
