Stayed here every year for 10 years. Great staff and service. Rooms very nice. 10 mins walk from town. Parking plus can sit outside at the front for a drink.

Hotel was nice and staff were friendly - liked the Churchill theme. Room was too small even for a twin but clean and well presented but felt like we were in the room 'squeezed in' amongst the others and short of trying another room with more space sadly I wouldn't stay again.

Enjoyed our stay, comfortable and welcoming and well located for a short visit to York, easy walking distance to most town centre activities.

Hummmmm - room and was weird - in a maze layout and flat style - stairs in the room - like an attic room with a sky light - like 6' square which was open and woke us up at sunrise (4am) uggggggg!

Also no ice nor wash clothes . Waited to get ice but never got wash cloths so had to bathe with hand towel ... they told me wash clothes were not "considered unclean" for reuse in the U.K.....

How refreshing to find a hotel that lives up to and exceeds what you see in the listings, the staff were all very helpful and obliging, the room was very well presented, the breakfast was just what you need to set you up for the day, I'd love to come again.

Beautiful hotel, under 5min walk from old town, very clean. Stuff are very friendly and they will go that extra mile to make you feel comfortable. A big thank you to those two young people who worked in the restaurant and brought the food to our room without us even asking (during the dinner a family problem occurred and we weren't able to finish it). Highly recommend it!

Pleasant and beautiful hotel room. The staff were really friendly! Glad we decided to travel by train though as parking is £10 per night!!!!!!
