This Hotel is perfect for all our needs
The staff are lovely and very professional. The food is delicious both the wood fired pizzas in the garden and the extensive menu in the immaculately adorned restaurant covering tastes from fish and chips to steaks to resotto
The hotel is only a 15 minute walk to the Minster and all of York’s attractions.

Unbearably hot rooms and cancelled dinner reservations without any information made the stay very disappointing.

We are sorry to hear that your experience was impacted by the high temperature in your room. We do understand how uncomfortable this can be, especially during warmer periods. As our building is historic, the installation of air conditioning can pose significant challenges and it is rarely needed in the north of England.

It is especially disappointing to learn that your dinner reservation was cancelled without prior notice or explanation. We can appreciate how frustrating this must have been, and we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience or confusion caused.

Thank you for noting that you found our location and cleanliness up to standard, but we regret that these aspects were outweighed by other issues on this occasion. Excellent experience? Great location near city centre with added bonus of parking. Staff were great especially reception

We expect much more value for the high price that we paid. The room was exposed to the street and can be seen from it.

I was a lovely in the garden on a hot afternoon. Pizza was great and filling, drinks cold, platter yummy..

Overall good.
Please note room comments above.
Quite disappointing that there was no lounge to relax in. Bar area feels like a lobby or corridor and the inner part of the bar is poky and a bit dingy. Chap who checked us in was very informative - thank you. The server in the restaurant was a v pleasant chap too.
Most staff very helpful (eg female manager who sorted a noise outside our room) and breakfast staff were welcoming and efficient.

we enjoyed our stay. would book again but for a different room. lovely beer garden which we made use of. great location and parking was useful even if we had to pay £18 per night. staff were pleasant
