Nice hotel well positioned close to both railway station and city centre. Good car parking but a little expensive at £18 per night. Other than that can recommend for a few nights away.

Room 139 was a bit dungeony, restaurant was nice. Forgot toothbrush which was kindly sent to our house

The hotel food offering has declined I'm over the 20 years we have been going. Limited choice and getting expensive. English breakfast was poor with bacon way, way overcooked to the point of being inedible.

Lovely friendly staff & I felt comfortable as a solo traveller.
The room was perfect for my overnight stay

It was a little underwhelming because of the quality of the premise as well as the cost! I’m glad we were only there one night.

The beer garden was lovely!

Enjoyed our stay good location bought as a present for us would stay again with a larger room the room we had was very small

Really disappointing as was looking forward to the stay. It looked great online. The welcome wasn't great and some bits in the room which are clearly unloved just brings down the feel. Not sure how it's award winning as stayed in better for way cheaper. The best was really uncomfortable too. We were planning on having breakfast but the experience of the hotel and staff made us decide otherwise. Overall the most disappointing part of the trip the York. Can't fault the location though!

Fine for a hotel room but the shower was just not okay. Should have complained as soon as I saw it but it was late and I just wanted to got to sleep.
