Very good weekend very comfortable and friendly hotel. Bar area was very pleasant. Day 1 breakfast was poor but day two was excellent.

Ok but small room and not made clear when booking that the hotel charge £10 for using their car park

Location was good, about 10 minutes walk to anything you need. The service was good although not necessarily exceptional. The room have 3 beds+1 extra bed, making it very affordable for us students.

The Churchill is a lovely hotel in a fantastic situation for the centre of York. All the staff were very friendly and the food was of a consistently high standard. My only criticism is that the decor and lighting make it permanently dark inside and a nice seating area would be a benefit

The breakfast was very good, however, I thought it would have been better to offer cereals, fruit, pastries as a help yourself buffet style aswell as the breakfast menu.

Customer service was the only let down. We enjoyed our stay and the room was comfortable but the staff were either aloof, confusing or inattentive.

We visited The Churchill as a family and found it to be a fabulous hotel, room was ideal for us having 2 teenager kids boy and girl and rather than the usual sofa-bed the room also had 2 single beds so no sharing. Location was great 5 minute walk to the wall around York. Staff very pleasant and friendly, didn't eat at hotel but when we visited the bar have to say food looked scrummy. Will definitely stay here again.

Really enjoyed our stay and would definitely book again. We did find the car park very tight and this meant having to reverse all the way out onto the busy road
