Very pleased with hotel and location, staff were helpful and polite. We liked the decorating throughout the hotel and were made to feel at home.

The room was lovely and clean the bathroom was spotless, staff were very helpful and the food was good .I would stay there again as it was really handy for all amenities just a short walk.

Unfortunately, the overall experience was marred by the oppressive, frighteningly dungeon grey decor all along dimly lit corridors -which was not relaxing or reassuring-and mystifying in these days of wonderful range of subtle paints. The Churchill theme is one thing but the bulldog theme is another -who wants a bulldog in the shower or in the bedroom???????????????????

Excellent stay at The Churchill as always. Amazing room, friendly staff, fantastic breakfast. The place to stay in York.

7/10. Corridors and stairways painted in trendy but very dark and gloomy shades unfortunately. Room.Room was. Small but fineven, nice fittings and well done. Bathroom had a definite drains smell.

Stayed at the Churchill for one night after my girlfriend bought me a trip to York for Christmas and I could not have stayed at a nicer hotel. We was met by amazing staff who reassured our every need and took total control letting us chose when we wanted the meal and breakfast. The meal was amazing and everything was cooked to perfection. Could not have asked for a better service. Real credit to the Churchill hotel.
