Lovely hotel, great location just a 10/15 minute walk into the heart of York. The room was spacious and very comfortable. All hotel staff were very friendly and helpful

Staff in all areas seemed happy to help, on arrival we asked if we could have rooms close together which was quickly organised and our rooms were lovely - especially liked having windows that actually opened wide on to a little 'garden' area.

We were very diisapointed. Hotel was gloomy and smelly and not as described. Internet would rairly connect. Bed awfull, room was cramped. radiator in bathroom permanently on hot and could not be turned off. We were charged twenty pounds for two days parking and was informed by reception staff it was because we did not book direct with the hotel. Would not stay again.

I had to ask to be given a different room, as my room was "under ground". This was not a good start to the stay but I was very pleased with the alternate room given. Also the TV reception was poor and had to tuned in to another receiver (???)

Dear Guest,

There were large thunderstorms in the vicinity when you stayed and the digital picture beamed from the Leeds mast was a little pixelated for a short time. This was most unusual but we tuned your TV in to the North East region instead of Yorkshire so you didn't have to wait for the storms to pass.

Rooms are vey stylish but a smell of fish and oil was coming from the restaurant and it smelled really bad. Apart from that it was excellent.
