Nice staff and great location. However the price for the room is far to much in my opinion.

The facilities and service were excellent. The only, minor quibble would be with the decor. While we understand the modern trend with the use of dark colours, which was perfectly well executed, it did rather overwhelm in some cases, in particular the windowless hall to our ground floor rooms which, despite its motion sensative lighting, was really too gloomy to be able to see where to insert one's key card; it really should be white and the lights should be on the facing wall, so that they shine on the door handles - a minor complaint in an overall very enjoyable stay.

Room small but had a great double shower will definitely stay again but will up grade to a superior room next time

The Churchill Hotel made our overnight stay in York all the more pleasurable from the check in to check out there was faultless service. We have stayed in many hotels over the years. Loved the history behind the house, being ex military it was nice to have stayed in the Major Generals old Qaurters!

Fantastic, we were only in York briefly, but staying at the Churchill made our stay! It was an absolute joy.
In addition I had asked prior if it was ok to leave the car in the car park for a couple of hours before we headed home to Edinburgh, I was doubtful that we would be allowed to do so as the car park was nearly full. However my worries were unnecessary as having briefly mentioning this to the very nice Gentleman on reception, all was still fine.
We thoroughly enjoyed our (too)brief stay at the Churchill, but we shall be returning in the near future, plus have earmarked a stay for my elderly parents who would be equally wowed too.
My only regret is that because of the young children, and being shattered, we had no time to try the bar or restaurant.
