Absolutely excellent apart from the car park was charged for twice. Our stay was a gift including overnight parking bought last December for my husband’s 70th birthday. Shortly before our stay we were sent an email asking if we wanted to arrange early check in, car parking and late checkout. We didn’t realise the gift voucher included car parking to the value of £18 so promptly paid for early check in and overnight car parking at a total of £26. Very disappointed that we were not advised that the car parking was included in the gift voucher, paid for by my husband’s brother. Great hotel, location and staff, just disappointed.

Your comments highlight an important area where we can improve our communication and ensure voucher inclusions are as clear as possible for future guests.

We come every year for a short break and love the hotel. We upgraded our room to allow us to come on a Friday and I was really disappointed as I got a dreadful nights sleep. I know the windows are old but they rattled all night and along with the slamming of doors downstairs it left me tired.

Polite staff, very helpful, we have been to the hotel before so we know the lay out of the rooms.

Let down would of stayed two nights ended up moving to across the road to stay at NO1 instead.. overpriced for what it is especially to be greeted by the man I was.. you would of thought he owned the place

Lovely polite staff, great area, beautiful bar and gardens, was expecting a little more from the room

Really enjoyed the stay. Great room with bags of character. Breakfast good but very confusing as to what we were getting for the price. Good distance from the city centre.

We had a really lovely stay. It was not our first stay and it definitely won’t be our last. We love this hotel, it’s in a great location and is beautiful inside and out. The staff are so warm and friendly and we always feel at home. This was our first time having breakfast in the hotel and it was cooked to order so it was lovely and fresh and delicious.

We will continue to come here as all staff are friendly. Would be nice to get a discount on parking, particularly when we do stay often.

Great and recommended to anyone. Location is easily walkable to all the attractions of York. Staff are friendly, rooms are comfortable and bathroom was lovely.

We really enjoyed our 2 night stay and will be visiting again. All the staff were really friendly. It was nice to sit out in the garden area even in October and the pizza's from the pizza oven were great.
