The Churchill Hotel

The hotel's real stars are the staff who were just great. The Churchill themed decor was a bit dark but we got used to it. We would have like there to be a residents' lounge - there was nowhere with sofas and armchairs where one could sit and relax with the rest of the party. The convenience of the hotel for the city was excellent.

Brilliant overall will be coming again :) location was perfect for our shopping trip and the room was a perfect relaxing experience

The location was excellent, very close to all of the central attractions. This was handy as we didn't have much time in York! We loved the hotel's decor, and breakfast was great with vegetarian choices. (Always appreciated).

Overall, an excellent, warm-hearted/welcoming hotel! The hotel was extremely clean and beautifully decorated. All of the staff I encountered were kind and helpful. I would and will 100% stay again.

OK but car park a let down, small gate I could barely get my car through and narrow space to park...

Very enjoyable and relaxing. This was our fifth visit to the hotel in the last three years. Already thinking of when to return.

Reception staff extremely friendly, car park interesting difficult gate to get in !! Very nice stay.

The hotel was good, however we were in the 'bunker room' which given its location was actually quite noisy throughout the night. The main door into the room didn't lock (the lock didn't line up with the hole) but apart from that was a very nice hotel with friendly helpful staff.

Great room great facilities apart from the shower not being very good parking onsight a bonus close to town

Excellent hotel, great location and nothing is too much trouble, well recommended - if your looking for a light lunch go for the steak sandwich
