Fabulously friendly and helpful staff. Great room with comfy bed and in a wonderful location. My third visit in as many months and I will be returning again next month.

Excellent. From booking on the phone Natalie was so helpful. Reception, Ian who helped us with map, locations of places we wanted to visit on our arrival.
The wonderful blonde lady who showed us our room & carried my case,then served us in the bar.

I thought the overall experience was good just the fact that we weren’t able to get a shower in the morning due to the water running cold. We did mention this to reception who this us this was due to the positioning of the room within the hotel and to allow the water to run for a longer period which we tried but this didn’t maje a difference to the water temperature

Had a lovely time at this excellent hotel, very comfortable clean spacious room, breakfast was delicious with excellent service. All staff were friendly and helpful. A big thank you to the gentleman on reception who checked us in and out, he was welcoming, friendly and helpful. Great location with added bonus of car parking on site and a lovely garden area.

Fabulous quirky hotel and the staff are amazing. The hotel is in a great location, 5 minute walk to other bars and restaurants and a 10 minute walk from York Minster. My only gripe would be paying £18 per day for parking. We didn't mind paying but a £5 charge per day would be more acceptable when staying at the hotel

Hotel was lovely. Lots of history. Room was lovely but no drawer unit, no fridge and bathroom was quite small. Car park is small. Our car was blocked in most of our duration which if we needed to get out quickly, this would not be possible. Car park prices too high, especially when you don’t have the freedom to come and go when you please. You have to go to reception to ask someone to get a staff members car moved which can be time consuming.
Bed was comfortable.
Ian at reception was very helpful in telling us places of interest and history of the hotel. Staff friendly.

If car parking is running out we do ask staff members to move their cars out of spaces for guests and double park but in these instances the staff member is always on site.

Great place to have as a base to discover York. We lived closeby here for 5 years, so knew exactly what we wanted, and it lived up to our full expectations and more. We'll be back soon!

Very poor and i would not recommend the hotel , the smell in the room was disgusting and it was no surprise to the staff.
