Friendly staff and a great room. Very comfortable and cosy, and the shower room was a great size. A short walk into the city centre

Very good service,and very nice staff, very good for walking into York and close to york train station

A lovey hotel with some dated features but otherwise a lovely place. Very convent for the city and the hospital.

great place to stay friendly staff great location, oven fired pizza cooked by friendly Italian walking distance to downtown wonderful the hotel is beautiful building of part of history.

We would definitely come back! The staff at reception are very friendly and helpful, the interior of the room is superb, all you need for your stay. The location is perfect, would definitely recommend to stay here if you wish to explore in York city centre!

The reception staff were lovely and the hotel is in a lovely, convenient location - near to everything.

The superior room we booked turned out to be an unusual underground bunker.

The breakfast however, was a big disappointment for the price.

Would we stay again? Yes, definitely for the location and the parking, but we wouldn't book breakfast, and would eat outside the hotel at one of the many nearby cafes for much cheaper.

Really quite disappointing. Both my husband and I were super excited to stay at this hotel but the luxurious feel of the outside, reception, restaurant did not actually spread through to the rooms. We were downstairs and there was a really strong smell of chemicals. I’m aware that ventilation is probably an issue with the old building and being below ground, but it was overwhelming.
