The front of staff were amazing and very helpful. The room itself was beautiful, very clean and it was a lovely place to stay in

I have been staying many times at the Churchill and it feels like staying with friends. The rooms are very comfortable, breakfast and diners are great. People are friendly and helpful. A great place to stay whether on business trip or holidaying in York.

Friendly staff. Clean except for the restaurant under the benches. Shouldn’t charge you a massive fee to park on Thor hotel grounds. But we had a good few days

Regarding the parking charge, we understand how frustrating it can feel. In the centre of York, complimentary parking is very rare, and we do try to keep our rates in line with other hotels in this area.

We absolutely loved our stay. We were in the bunker, so it was super quiet in the room and super dark. Unfortunately the internet was very patchy down there, but understandably so bearing in mind were were underground (I think we were underground - it was after all called the bunker, and there are no windows in the room). It didn't bother us to not have windows. The room was a very good size and the bathroom was huge and very well stocked with toiletries, shower cap, and sewing kit.
The staff were fantastic, from checking in, to the bar, the restaurant and checking out again. Super knowledgeable about the hotel's history.

It was our second stay here and it serves our purpose very nicely.
Plus we love the kitkats on the hospitality tray!

We’re also delighted you enjoyed the KitKats on the hospitality tray; we include them as KitKats are made in York at the old Rowntree's factory (now owned by Nestle) and when the wind blows in a certain direction you can smell the chocolate in the air!

Great hotel, friendly staff, and relaxed atmosphere. We had a great time and being in the hotel was like an oasis from the chaos of the city.

Satisfactory and the location is worth the minor shortcomings. Wheelchair access would be an advantage.

Excellent, cannot fault at all. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is brilliantly situated, just a short walk into York.
