The hotel was very nice, clean and comfortable. Just very disappointed to have been given a room with no window, a skylight in the roof is no substitute. We booked this well in advance and expected a room with a window. There was no mention of this when we booked, it should be mentioned on booking if internal room being allocated.

It was a very good stay, I booked over the phone and received a confirmation email but when I checked it the day before we arrived the cost of the stay was not on the email. On check out we were not automatically offered a receipt.

The Churchill provided an excellent service. Extremely helpful and friendly staff. We will definitely be returning in the near future.

We have stayed at The Churchill several times and always enjoyed our visits. Being able to park in the hotel car park is also very convenient.

Wonderful room (honey moon suite) although would be amazing if water pressure was a little better in the shower room, better toiletries, updated carpet (felt slightly grubby) and attention was made to wood work around the door frame. Also very audible traffic noise on a morning but still a pleasure to spend the night in a room with so much history and although had plans in York so didn't visit the bar or restaurant the areas looked welcoming and clean. We were never asked the purpose of our visit, either over the phone when booked or at check in and for us was our first time away from our children in 9 years celebrating our 10 year anniversary. An acknowledgement of this either by card in room or a note on the system to congratulate us would have elevated the personalisation of our experience.

Very nice hotel we have been here twice definitely see us returning. The rooms are clean and very pleasant haven’t tried the food yet.

We would definitely stay at The Chuchill again on our next visit to York. We cannot rate the hotel highly enough with its location, our family room was lovely with a picture of Winston Churchill covering an entire wall, the bathroom was modern and spacious. Staff were very helpful both on arrival/departure as well as at breakfast. The only negative point I would say was the price of breakfast which was not included in the cost of our stay. But I cannot fault the choice of food or quality at breakfast, we could've went out for breakfast but was more convenient for us to eat in the hotel. Overall The Churchill gets the thumbs up from us!!

A nice hotel with lovely obliging staff. We stayed in the old part. A lovely bathroom but the bedroom was a tight squeeze and the bed was creaky!

Very good and hope to visit again. Interesting building including the large picture of the Bulldog in the shower.
