A great place to relax, enhance friendships with locals and just completely chill out.
We’ve just returned, 30th November, from our 2nd honeymoon having been married in Mauritius 20 years ago and although we chose a different hotel this time, we can truly say “what a great choice!”
The hotel is a couples only resort, not large but perfectly formed. It really is a class apart from the larger locations. Beautifully appointed, great facilities, perfect beach and very well managed with attentive and helpful staff.
From the manager down (Jennifer Wong), through to the cleaners, everyone is kind, helpful and extremely pleasant.
Special mention goes to Adesh the bellboy a nicer kind hearted man you’ll never meet, Cynthia on the main reception radiates helpfulness and care for the guests. In the restaurant, which has great food, well made by a chef whose touch with spices is amazing, there is Rohit and his brother Rohan, along with Antish who really set the service standards in both the bar and restaurant.
The rooms are really very good with great views of the beach and pools, one of which is an infinity pool. The room cleanliness is of a very high standard and Reena who looked after our room amongst others was very fast and very efficient.
There is clearly a great team ethic in place managed by Jennifer who is very approachable and very much evident at the resort. She has established a strong base team but with new additions like Rebecca coming through too.

To the more minutiae of the resort.
The beach is small but very well maintained.
Adequate beach parasols of the natural variety.
The water activities on offer seem to cover everyone’s needs.
The beach bar/restaurant offers good lunchtime choices.
Drinks service on the beach is an area that could be improved by adding reliability to the mix. However it’s not a long walk to the bar anyway, but a service like beach service would add that little extra.
Pool spaces with parasols isn’t as well appointed and so the parasols tend to get snapped up quick.
The infinity pool is lovely and better than the more traditional pool which suffers for it being quite shallow.
The spa service on site is very thorough although we didn’t take advantage on this trip.
The hotel shop is pretty well stocked but soft drinks aren’t sold there as it’s more of a gift shop affair.
Just reverting back to the bar, I think a course on cocktail mixing for a few line managers would pay benefits. Having visited Cuba quite a lot, we know it’s possible not to spend too much on cocktails but just “get them right”. A prime example being pinha colada’s, which bear no resemblance between the version here and in Cuba.

Being all inclusive mostly resort it seems counter productive to specify what drinks are included and which aren’t. Constant checking on room numbers and having to sign for every drink and every meal can get a bit laborious. Far better to use a wrist band system for those staying on all inclusive basis.

These are of course minute issues compared to ALL the positives notes made earlier. It could well be a case of gilding the Lilly but after two weeks we were so proud of not only ourselves for choosing this hotel but also all the staff we had really grown to like, some we’d class a friends now
